TECHNICAL WRITER

 

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

 

QA and/or Risk Management Technical Writer

·         Must have basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) in all its variations (agile; iterative; etc.).

·         Must have the motivation, desire and capability to keep current with changing trends in technology and how quality assurance is performed.

·         Must have in–depth understanding on how configuration management and testing (manual, automated) is conducted because part of the QA plan may include writing about how we do software testing and configuration management of code, documents, etc. For Risk Management, they need to understanding what the risk management lifecycle is including risk register, identifying risks (not just in software development but overall program risks); coming up with risk mitigation solutions, etc.

 

HR and Recruiting Technical Writer:

·         Must have basic understanding of the various functions performed by HR and recruiting.  

·         Must be capable of writing about the most efficient methods for recruiting staff for the contract – the methods.

·         Must also have the capability of writing about how a company can find people for short term assignments and how they will use these people after the short term project is over (I.e.: assigning them to bench; other projects; training internal employees etc.).

·         Must be responsible for writing about the company's strategy to train people and keep their skills current. 

·         Must have the motivation, desire and capability to keep current with changing trends in human resources and recruiting.

·         Must be able to support the team to find resumes, screen resumes to required qualifications, format resumes in the correct format to include in the proposal. 

 

Transition Writer:

·         Must have basic understanding of how contracts are transitioned – what type of activities does a contractor need to engage when they are taking over a contract from another company. How would they ensure a smooth transition (I.e: taking over assets, inventory of assets including computers, documents, databases, etc.).

·         This person will work closely with the HR/Recruiting writer when writing about how we will transition people from another company over to ours. The write-up they come up with must be consistent with HR's story of how they will hire people for the program.

·         Must have the motivation, desire and capability to keep current with changing trends in program management and transition support.

 

 

Past Performance/Case Studies Writer:

·         Must have the capability to understand the technical support provided by companies to clients.

·         This person will develop individual questionnaires to extract the relevant information as it pertains to the specific proposal. They will interview program managers and other stakeholders over the phone to get the information about the current project and draft it up as a past performance/case study. While a single program may cover multiple aspects, the writer should know which specific area to focus on that is most relevant to the program we are bidding on and tailor the case study/past performance to emphasize that specific area of support. 

 

 

Qualifications:

- Must have completed at least two (2) years of college or must possess a vocational/short course certificate

- Fresh graduates are encourage to apply

- Must be able to communicate fluently in English

- Must have strong analytical skills

- Must be willing to work on a shifting schedule

- Preferably with experience as a Technical Writer or equivalent
